Cast Basalt Tiles and Shapes
Cast Basalt is a naturally occurring basalt rock wear resistant material. Offering superb abrasion resistance this mineral is quarried, melted, cast and annealed to form a fine crystalised glass ceramic of extreme hardness that resists erosion. Cast Basalt is supplied in pipe and tile form and provides an excellent hardwearing surface for corrosive wear and abrasion protection of equipment.
Cast Basalt Features:
- Wear Protection Applications up to approximately 400°C
- Increases coefficient of friction as it wears creating favourable flow conditions
- Available in straight pipe, bends and shapes
- Mohs ceramic hardness of 8, diamond has a value of 10.
